PROMOTING SCHOLARSHIP THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITIES
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Considering the large population of persons across the country performing poor academically, socially and emotionally, and the preponderance of negative attention directed toward people of color, specifically [but not exclusive of] urban youth, we found it fitting and timely to create a brand which will generate a movement across neighborhoods, communities and cities throughout America. The "neighborHOOD Scholar" movement and logo are very symbolic, intentionally.
The NeighborHOOD Scholar’s purpose is three-fold:
1. To promote academic achievement.
2. To spur economic development using scholarship as a primary means.
3.. To popularize intellect and intelligence.
